We traveled to Japan late April 2017 but sadly cherry blossom forecast in Osaka and Tokyo is late March to early April. We thought we will not have a chance to experience cherry blossom viewing but a friend of Ed told us that cherry blossom at Aomori blooms at first week of May. Yey!
This day trip at Aomori is solely for the purpose of cherry blossom viewing at Hirosaki park which is home to 2500 cherry blossom trees. Total travel time from Tokyo to Hirosaki Park is ~4.5 hours which consists of 1 Shinkansen ride, 1 local train ride and 1 bus ride. It was a long journey but when we reach Hirosaki Park it was totally worth it!

We reached Shin Aomori Station around 9:50am. From Shin Aomori Station, we transfer to Ou Line to reach JR Hirosaki Station. Travel time is ~45mins.

From JR Hirosaki Station, we took a bus to reach Hirosaki Park. Travel time ~15mins. Hirosaki Park admission fee is
¥310 per person.

We spent ~6 hours wandering around the park and it seems not enough. We left Hirosaki Park around 5pm to catch our Shinkansen train.
Hi what time did u leave tokyo? Is it a strict schedule? Or are there plenty of train sched? How did unguys reserve ur seat? It’s my first time to go to japan. Me and my bestfriend will try this too, but we are kinda of scared because it’s a long trip. Can we go a little early than 5 pm?
